In order to maintain the brand awareness and maximize resources during the pandemic, BDS quickly pivoted our virtual reality (VR) client’s in-store demo program to a 100% virtual sales experience using an innovative mix of virtual and live streaming experiences.

The client utilized BDS’ Tap-a-Tech platform to enable 2-way video calls via a ‘Tap-a-Tech’ widget that was embedded on a partnering retailer’s website and via a QR code on the endcap in stores. On the other end, highly trained VR experts conducted instant product demos for customers, provided further product information, assisted with purchases, and gained immediate customer feedback.

A Brighter Experience

To bring the VR experience to life even further, BDS built a BrightShop remote store environment in Irvine, CA that was outfitted with demo products, displays, and more. The VR experts not only used the space to immerse customers in the products during video calls, but also used the spaced during downtime to create on-demand training content for store associates and other client teams.
