Connor V.
This month’s Employee Spotlight features our BDS University Administrator and a loyal BDSers of over 2 years, Connor V.! As our BDSU Administrator, he handles all things related to our LMS platform, BDS University. This is anything from assigning courses to their respective programs, updating and organizing new courses, and assisting our employees with any troubleshooting for their courses. Connor also handles our BDS University’s 360 program, which is an umbrella for all social events and activities. He also has recently expanded his responsibilities and has become BDS’ video content creator, where he generates photo and video content for training courses, sales initiatives, and any other content as needed.
Q: What is your favorite part about working for BDS?
A: The commute on the 405. Just joking. It would definitely be the amazing people I have the opportunity of working with every day. It is refreshing to come into a working environment that is full of smiling faces. People here are hardworking and friendly which is a rare find in my opinion. Most places I have worked at in the past the co-workers you find are either hardworking OR friendly. It is nice to see a mix of both and I really enjoy it.
Q: What is your favorite band? How long have this been your favorite?
A: This is a tough one since I love a lot of bands out there. I say ‘favorite’ band based upon how many times I can listen to their songs and not get tired of them and that would-be Coldplay and Third Eye Blind – primarily their older stuff. (queue the headshakes from fellow BDSers reading this).
Q: What is your goal in life?
A: I have always dreamed of flying or working in remote outdoor areas. I would love to be a helicopter pilot, mountain search and rescue, or make documentaries for outdoor companies such as North Face, Mountain Hardware, etc.
Q: What do you like to do on your spare time?
A: I like to stay busy and active or learn new skills. If I have spare time, I’m usually surfing, filming, climbing, or planning the next weekend camping trip.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in Newport Beach and have lived in Orange County my entire life. It’s definitely a nice place but I’m beginning to want more space and less crowds – not sure where that is yet. I hear Bend, Oregon is nice.
Q: Free trip or money?
A: A free trip, for sure – If I were given money I would default to put it in savings or pay off student loans. With a trip – I’m going and there’s nothing I can do about it. I’m more of an “Experience over expense” kind of guy.
