Lorene R.
This month’s Employee Spotlight features Lorene R. As a loyal BDSer for over seven years, Lorene shines on the retail floor with her expertise as a formal and informal Trainer, Assisted Sales Representative, and Merchandiser for our Flex Force and Merchandising teams. Outside of work, Lorene enjoys taking advantage of the sunny California weather in her hometown, Sonoma County. It’s no wonder cycling and photography are her favorite leisure activities!
Fun Fact: Lorene had the once in a lifetime chance to volunteer at the Taste of Sonoma area in Super Bowl City during the first week of February. If only we all could be so lucky!
Q. What is your favorite part about working for BDS?
A: Hands down, the BDS culture. Often times working remotely in the field, it’s easy to feel isolated or forgotten. For the last 7 years, I have worked on the Flex Force team in a variety of roles, and the Managers I have worked with are sincere, heartfelt supervisors. They work with reps, focus on their strengths, and also hold their respective team(s) accountable. I have worked for multiple direct competitors to BDS, but unlike them, this team encourages ‘out of the box thinking’ which enables me to succeed in store, while building lasting relationships with key store personnel.
Q: Do you sing and dance while no one is watching?
A: Heck NO! I can’t carry a tune in a bucket.
Q: What is the most important thing you have done in your life?
A: I donated a kidney on 12/4/14 to a complete stranger, and because I am a contract employee of BDS, this meant I was on unpaid medical leave for 8 weeks while I recuperated from the surgery. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!
